Okay, here’s the long story.
The night before the show, I saw a contest on a danish radio website, where you could win Rooney tickets. You just had to name their first album.. And it even said what it was called in the text + there was 3 options:

So that couldn’t have been any easier.. and it didn’t say when the contest finished, so I thought what the heck.
Then yesterday I took the train at 1.10pm. I put my phone on “silent”, but suddenly I saw that someone had called. A number I didn’t know. I usually don’t call people back, unless I know who they are. But since I’d entered the contest, I called the number back. This woman answered the phone and I told her who I was, and that she’d just called me.. She was like “oh yeah, I wanted to tell you that you’ve won 2 tickets to see Rooney tonight and I wanted to confirm your name”. She would e-mail the details to me, but I told her I was already on my way to Copenhagen, so she texted them instead. In the text it said that the support would play at 9pm and Rooney after that.. I hadn’t heard anything about a support band, but figured that it could be a local band.
Well, that meant that I suddenly had 2 extra tickets. I don’t really know anyone in Copenhagen, so I asked Britta if she had anyone to bring. She called up Louise, and Louise wanted to go. That left me with 1 extra ticket.
I get to Copenhagen at 2.30pm, where Britta is waiting for me. We walk down to the city center and have a conversation that sounded something like this :
Me : It would be so funny if we saw the guys here
Britta : yes
Me : But I very much doubt that would happen, it’s a big city
Britta : It could happen
2 minutes later, who do we see? Matt and Ned. All of the sudden they’re 5 meters in front of us, walking the opposite direction. They walk really fast and pass us in matters of seconds, so we didn’t really say hi to them. I doubt we would have done that anyway, gotta give them their privacy :)
We went to get something to eat and have a couple of drinks.
At around 5.20pm we get to the venue. There’s only 1 other person there. Their bus was parked right outside the venue, and at one time Ned comes out and goes into the bus and back into the venue.. Later Lily goes to the bus for a while. A little later Ned, Robert and Scotty goes over to eat just at the other side of the road, and Lily and Louie passes by us to go somewhere.
Rooney was playing in Lille (small) Vega and this other band was playing in Store (big) vega. Some of the fans who was going to the other concert couldn’t really figure out where to go, so sometimes they got in the Rooney line. We kindly told them they were in the wrong line lol. There was this guy who looked kinda searching, so we asked him if he was going to see Rooney. He said yes, but that he needed to buy tickets. He needed 2 tickets (they were sold at the door when that opened), we told him that he could buy 1 from me… He did. Of course he didn’t pay full price, but it did save us a little money. Then I had no more spare tickets. yay. haha.
The doors opened at 8pm and we got to stand in the front row between Matt and Robert. The stage wasn’t very big, and there was a large speaker in front of Matt (on the floor, so everyone could still see him), so that was basicly all the space that was between Robert and Matt.. We were pretty close to both of them, and right in front of Ned.
Like I said earlier, some of the info said that there was a opening band, but we didn’t see any gear except Rooney’s. We asked their tech guy if there was another band playing, but there wasn’t.
There really wasn’t a lot of people there, only 2 rows and a few people sitting down… So I was a little scared noone would be there. But just before Rooney went on stage a lot more people came. Nowhere near sold out, but a good amount of people.
Rooney came on stage just after 9pm. The setlist was completely different from the other times I’ve seen them. They started out with Love Me or Leave Me (they’ve always started out with Blueside or Calling The World).

Robert frequently came over and played his guitar right in front of us.. and then we really had to step a step back, otherwise we’d been hit in the head quite a few times.
What happened, what happened? hhmm.. I don’t know, it was just awesome. haha.. Well, I took a video of Are You Afraid.. Then later, just before they started to play another song (I’ve forgotten which one, but I’m pretty sure it was All In Your Head.. either that one or Paralyzed), Robert takes out his video camera and is filming us.. Then when they start to play, but before he has to sing, he tries to hand the camera to Louise, for her to film.. But she doesn’t get it.. at all.. haha.. Robert needed so sing, and Louise still didn’t get it, so I grapped the video camera.. So I actually filmed some of the song. Unfortunately I didn’t really think about it, and kept singing along.. oops.
Then later in the song Robert get his camera back, and films different angles of stuff… Continuing to film while he’s singing and such. I didn’t realise until after the song had finished, that I probably should NOT have sung along. big oops.
I don’t even know what to say, except that the concert was really great.. and eventho there wasn’t that many people there, I think it was the best crowd out of all the Rooney concerts I’ve been to.
After the show, there was a meet and greet… But you had to buy merch to get into that (what’s up with that? seriously). I do have some merch, and there wasn’t really anything I wanted.. so we didn’t do that. Britta had talked to Robert before the concert, and he’d said that they’d come out and mingle after the meet and greet. They didn’t.
So we waited outside by the bus with some other people.
Louie was the first to come out, he was really nice as usually.. He said that he’d loved it, that the venue was a good size and he def. wanted to come back. I was getting his autograph on my picture with me and him, and on another picture for Bruna who live in Brasil.. I told him that the other picture was going to Brazil and he was like “oh, how cool.. I didn’t know we had fans in Brazil”. He still hadn’t gotten his keyboard.
Then Matt came out and was really nice as usually.
The others still hadn’t come out.. and all of the sudden Britta said (or maybe this was before Matt came out? I don’t remember)
“I’m just gonna stand in front of the door like this”
and went to stand right in front of the door. As she did this, this guy who work at the venue opened the door… Britta got so surprised/scared that she jumped into the air and to the side.. It looked soooo funny and we all laughed really really hard. haha.
So it took a while before all the guys came out, but they eventually did. Oh, I forgot. Ned handed Britta one of his drumsticks after the show… So she got all her signatures on that.
Now we’ve gotten to the part where I piss Taylor off. Taylor comes out and we ask for autographs. I hand him my picture with me and him, and he says “this is a really good picture”.. And I’m like “yes, except you’re not smiling as usual”. And he says something like “you didn’t see fucking Morrison smile” or something like that, he sounded really pissed.. But he did smile on all the pictures we had taken with him yesterday. LOL. Sorry for pissing you off Taylor.. I just meant that it would be nice to get a smile.
After we’ve met them all, we were kinda in a hurry. There was only 15minutes until my train left (and until Britta and Louise’s train left, but that was a different one).. So we hauled a taxi so that we would make it to the railway station in time. Luckily we did. I got on the train at 12.30am. I was finally in Odense around 2.30am.. And of course I couldn’t go to bed without uploading my videos from the show first.
